From everyone at Capes and Cons we'd like to thank the heros that serve and have served in order to protect our country. Enjoy your memorial day everyone!

-Mitch Greetings!
We now have a new layout of our blogs! You can find specifically organized pages on our drop-down menu, and everything else that doesn't fit (whether it's just general or personal) will go on this page. We thought the articles were too jumbled and disorganized, so we made this new layout to make it easier for you guys to find what you're actually interested in! Hopefully you like it. -Mitch At least twice a month you can expect to see me post a comic review because I'm currently following two series (at least for now). You've already seen a review of the first one, The Defenders, and as far as I know you are currently unaware of the other. This unknown series is The Justice League. I'm currently planning a review of The Justice League that covers the complete first arc, which is the first six issues, and will most likely post it one day this week when we are in need of a post.
In terms of each individual review, I plan to discuss a few things, namely the quality of the artwork and writing. I will also go over any improvements (or worsening's for that matter), from the previous issues and/or arcs. One thing that you should not expect from my reviews is any form of grade. No letter grade, no number scale, nothing. Far too often I think critics kill a comic/movie/television show/video game with their reviews. People need to remember that a review is only the opinion of one person, and should not be used as the sole factor in making a decision about purchasing whatever that product may be. So naturally, what you should expect from my reviews is just my opinion and they should be viewed as precisely that. One man's opinion. Of course I'm going to say whether or not I like the product/publication/production, I wouldn't be able to call it a review if I didn't pass some sort of judgment. I guess this post has gotten pretty negative and has turned into more of a "What Not to Expect", but that's just what my mind happened to produce as I wrote this post. I'll try not to be so dreary next time. :) -Mitch Capes And Cons now has a Twitter account! Follow us for even more updates!
Here we are: https://twitter.com/#!/CapesAndCons Hello everyone! Welcome to our humble site of all things geeky. From comics to video games, we'll cover every topic imaginable in popular media.
My name is Shen, and I'm here to dish out the latest news of only the newest and best video games, movies, and whatever else comes to mind. Don't worry, I'll only post reviews and discussions of the greatest and worst of my categories - as those are the only types worth looking into. I would like to offer up a "Congrats" to all those who have gotten their Comic-Con tickets in the chaos that took place last weekend, and a "My Condolences..." those lost sisters and brothers who got cut out. Let us all hope that by all and any means, these forlorn comrades in cult followings and geeky obsessions may find their way into the walls of the San Diego Convention Center this summer. Thanks to all for having me and remember to keep your eye on our Comic-Con countdown. See you 'round! -Shen What's up? I am the second of I think five elements on this website. Being a geek isn't just a culture, it's a lifestyle and I want this website to imbibe all the geekery that I emit into it. Oh I forgot to mention my name is Dante but I operate under the moniker of RighteousFro. Our glorious leader has tasked me with writing about The Last Airbender: The Legend of Korra, sitcoms, The Walking Dead, and whatever else my brain tells me to write about (maybe I'll sneak some anime stuff here or there). Anyway i'm excited for this project and I'll be around to watch it grow and take over the free world.
Let's do this. Hi there!
My name is Mitch, and I'm the head writer here at C&C. On my spare time I write for a small newspaper and I really enjoy it, but I want to have more control of the subject matter of my articles. Thus, Capes and Cons is born! I am interested in mostly every aspect of Geekdom, and I plan to write under every category of this site. For now I am the only writer of this site, but this definitely will change as progress is made. My hope for this site is that it eventually becomes a HUB for people to read interesting articles concerning popular culture and media. Here's to success! -Mitch |
